To think about the future, you first need to think about the past. Time pass so fast, that you can’t even realize what future is, until is already past.
The Dome of Santa Maria dei Fiori was inspired by the Pantheon of Rome, which at the same time was inspired by Roman Empire temple’s, which at the same time were inspired by others.
Then past becomes future.
You need to take the past to the present, and see what happend. Architecture is the mirror of light, materials and shapes. All those complexly intertwined, sometimes repeated but different.
Do you want to see the future? Then change those elements, turn everything over, start changing the stablished things, the limits and horizons. Connect, link, join and attach the unattachable things. Let your mind fly. Imagine, create, destroy, break the set barriers.
